Monica N. Betancourt

Monica N. Betancourt has over 10 years of experience in diverse legal fields, from legal academia and public interest law to litigation, corporate transactional practice and in-house counsel. She regularly represents clients on a wide range of business transactions and also helps them with their general corporate housekeeping needs, as well as private loans, commercial real estate transactions, corporate restructuring, licensing, employment, offerings, and other corporate matters.

Prior to joining Grady Hunt PLLC, Monica was an associate at the preeminent Miami boutique law firm of Alvarez & Diaz-Silveira LLP. Previously she served as in-house counsel and director of operations for companies in the luxury real estate and managed IT services industries; was an associate at a boutique civil litigation firm in Palm Beach County, Florida; created the curriculum for and taught an L.L.M. program in Internet & Technology Law at Tumaini University in Iringa, Tanzania, one of the most elite universities in East Africa; and was an International Human Rights Fellow at the Gilbert + Tobin Centre for Public Law at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia.

Monica also was a professional dog trainer, and she holds several certifications from The Wine & Spirit Education Trust and The Wine Scholar Guild in wine tasting and wine education.
