colleen M. Grady

Colleen is the first person her clients call when they are contemplating a transaction or a new agreement. She is responsive and available to her clients for all their corporate and business needs. Colleen’s ability to process and solve complex legal issues and her experience in effectively educating and counseling clients adds value to every legal matter. Colleen has over 25 years of legal experience that includes international and domestic business transactions, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures (especially with respect to the drafting of limited liability company and shareholder agreements), private company investments, borrower-side bank finance transactions, general contract drafting and review and corporate governance matters. She works with entertainment lawyers who need business-related legal and secured transaction advice for their clients’ publishing, merchandising and joint venture transactions.

Colleen regularly represents clients on both large transactional matters and their operational needs. She is especially adept at managing complex transactions and coordinating the legal teams that are required to close them effectively so that clients can utilize her as their single point person. She works well with her clients’ management teams and other professional advisors. Additionally, she helps clients solve day-to-day problems and put more routine business agreements in place. Clients have commented that she is “so valuable to us” and that working with her “was the best experience with an attorney we have ever had” and have often remarked on Colleen’s “quick response time”, her ability to meet deadlines, and her effectiveness at explaining complex concepts to non-lawyers.

Colleen started her legal career as a corporate attorney in the Miami, Stockholm, and Helsinki offices of White & Case LLP, a New York.-based global law firm. She then taught full-time at Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad College of Law. At NSU, she taught critical legal skills, helped prepare graduates for the bar exam and prepared student teams for, and judged, competitions related to international arbitration, client counseling and transactional drafting. Prior to co-founding Grady Hunt PLLC, Colleen was a corporate partner at a preeminent Miami boutique law firm founded by former White & Case lawyers where she served as managing partner for two years.
